Getting to Macugnaga is quick, easy and inexpensive. With low cost airlines becoming even more competitive and flight routes to Milan increasing it’s by far the most economical way to arrive. Alternatively there is the possibility to drive from the UK and include an overnight stop en route.

 

By Air

Our closest airport to resort is Milan Malpensa and is from where we offer our inclusive airport transfer service on a Thursday and Sunday. There are  flights from several airports in the UK with Easyjet, Flybe and we suggest you have a look at  www.low-cost-airline-guide.com to see where you can fly from.  Alternatively there are 3 other airports that you can fly to and where we also offer our airport transfer service for a small additional charge (found on Prices page).  Below gives you an idea of the approximate transfer time from airport to resort.

 

Milan Malpensa    - 1½ hrs

Linate                   - 2 hrs

Bergamo              - 2 ½ hrs

Turin                    - 2 ½ hrs

 

By Road

It is possible to drive from the UK by using either the Eurotunnel or the the ferry crossing from Dover to Calais which are the shortest and most direct routes. From Calais there are various routes through France and Switzerland however the most direct is over the Simplon Pass which takes approximately 11 - 12 hours. It is possible to drive non stop but there are lots of cheap hotels along the way to rest for 1 night and which doesn’t leave you feeling tired before your holiday has begun. It is essential to come equipped with snow chains as they are required by law on certain mountain roads.

 

Airport Transfer Service

If you travel on a Thursday or Sunday this service is included in the cost of your holiday and is not a personal taxi service. We usually have other guests to meet on other flights and occasionally waiting is unavoidable. Your transfer time will be determined by the flight arrival times and the number of people to collect on the same day. With this in mind we ask you not arrange a transfer with us unless you are relaxed about the possibility of waiting. Alternatively there is the option to have a private transfer which we can organise for you.
