




The village of Macugnaga is 1327m and is classed as a high altitude ski resort.
There are 2 ski areas plus nursery slopes for beginners. The Belvedere/Burki ski
area is located in Pecetto & there is a chairlift which takes you up to the piste.
This area is shaded at the beginning of the season keeping the snow in perfect condition.
There are various green, blue & red runs including a wonderful 3km tree lined blue/green
run back to resort which is very popular with beginners & intermediate skiers. The
Monte Moro ski area is reached by 2 cable cars from Staffa taking you up to a breathtaking
2970m with views of Switzerland & the Matterhorn. Here there are some testing red
& black runs with an exhilarating 7km red run down to the first cable car station.

It is possible to walk to both ski areas from your accommodation however there is also a ski bus which runs between the 2 ski areas to make your day a little easier.

There are hardly ever any queues on lifts, it’s great value & a perfect ski area for families.
